What is Vacuum transport system?
Vacuum transport system is a transport system of air and friction, compared with the train or airplane, this transport system is more secure, while the cost and noise is lower. The pod design of a 6-seat transport traveling in vacuum tubes and weighs 183 kg, the design speed of a staggering 4,000 miles (6500 kilometers) per hour, while energy consumption is far less than traditional transport. By means of a vacuum tube transport systems, passengers from New York to Los Angeles is just 45 minutes, 2 hours from New York to China, however, within six hours you can travel around the world. Isn't it great?
The designer said that this system eliminates the air and rolling resistance, the speed is up to 50 times faster than the electric car or train. According to their vision, the vacuum transport system as a private rapid transport can also be the same as the highway connected into a network, by using vehicle size of pod cabin can sent/transfer passengers to their destination.
The designer pointed out that the construction cost for this system is very low, it's only a quarter of the highway or 1/10 of high-speed rail. The passengers of the vacuum tube transport systems will only affected by a very small acceleration due to gravity effects, but the principles of physics behind it, the designer is still not very clear. The idea to create a vacuum tube transport system came out from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Oster in 1990s. In 1997, he received the patent of this technology.
